FAQ

  • “Embedding Compassion in Curriculum for Supportive Learning Environment and Students’ Mental Wellbeing” is a pilot project, in which teachers and students collaborated to co-create positive learning experience, and to develop teaching and learning materials for the cultivation of compassionate mind and communication.
  • With this project, our team hopes to enhance students’ social and emotional competence, wellbeing, and academic confidence through the learning and practice of receiving compassion and expressing compassion to self and others (including peers in learning groups and people in the larger community).
  • Adopting compassion-based pedagogy in teaching and learning has been found to yield numerous positive effects. It can help create a supportive environment where students feel valued and understood. • Although the teaching and learning materials are developed under the BSocSc (Counselling) programme, we believe that developing the knowledge and skills in self-compassion and compassionate communication in group work would be useful to all students at different faculties and departments. Teachers can select and tailor the materials to match with their teaching objective and students’ learning needs.
